So in this universe, robots are a thing that exist as a piece of advanced technology, often used as assistants to complete repetitive tasks in a variety of environments. Nona is a much older model, rebuilt by Dakota and programmed with ai that allows her to replicate human emotions and behavior. She was even fixed with a brand new screen to replace her outdated (and frankly quite uncanny) face! Nona still has a lot to learn about the world, but she's doing so with the help of Dakota and his friends. She wants to think for herself, but still tends to rely on the guidance of whoever will listen to her.
